Clarice is a television series created by Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet based on The Silence of the Lambs by Thomas Harris and set between the events of the 1991 film and Hannibal (2001). It stars Rebecca Breeds as Clarice Starling, who returns to the field to investigate serial murderers and predators.
Clarice is produced by CBS Television Studios, MGM Television, and Secret Hideout. The cast also includes Lucca De Oliveira, Devyn A. Tyler, Kal Penn, Nick Sandow, Michael Cudlitz, and Marnee Carpenter. It premiered on February 11, 2021 on CBS in the United States.
Premise[]
Clarice is a deep dive into the untold personal story of FBI Agent Clarice Starling as she returns to the field in 1993, three years after the events of The Silence of the Lambs. Brilliant and vulnerable, Clarice's bravery gives her an inner light that draws monsters and madmen to her. However, her complex psychological makeup that comes from a challenging childhood empowers her to begin to find her voice while working in a man's world, as well as escape the family secrets that have haunted her throughout her entire life.[1]
