The F.B.I. Academy is located on Marina Corps Base Quantico in Quantico, Virginia, and is the training site for new Special Agents of the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation.

It was first opened for use in 1972 on 385 acres (1.6 km²) of woodland. It is a relatively small government academy, housing three dormitory buildings and associated facilities. Federal law enforcement officers from the FBI and Drug Enforcement Administration undergo training courses here. FBI agents currently have a 20-week long training course.

The FBI Academy is located on 547 acres on a Marine Corps base in Quantico, Virginia about 40 miles south of Washington, D.C. Much of the FBI’s training takes place here—from minting new agents and analysts to grooming law enforcement leaders from around the world.

The Academy also serves as a premier learning and research center, an advocate for best practices throughout the global criminal justice community and a place where lasting partnerships are forged among law enforcement and intelligence professionals worldwide.

Some of the known teachers in Hannibal are special agent Will Graham and Dr. Alana Bloom, who gives guest lectures at the academy.
