Gretchen Speck (divorced, formerly Speck-Horowitz) is a character and almost‑victim of Eldon Stammets. She appears when she goes to the pharmacy to get a prescription, and is later found buried in the trunk of a car.
Appearances[]
Speck appears in the season 1 episode "Amuse-Bouche" while picking up her prescription for insulin. Stammets is confused at first because her on-file name (Speck-Horowitz) and the name she gives him (Speck) are different, but she tells him she is divorced, having "lost the hyphen, kept the ring".[1] Stammets confirms her address and later kidnaps her, burying her in the trunk of his car. She is eventually found and rescued by the FBI.
Trivia[]
- She was a character in Bryan Fuller's second television series, Wonderfalls, which was cancelled after one season. The actor who portrayed her abductor, Aidan Devine, also guest starred on Wonderfalls. Caroline Dhavernas starred in the show as Jaye, an old friend of Gretchen's.
